Fertility/Maternity and Baby ReflexSub-Fertility ReflexologyMany couples have found that using reflexology whilst trying for a baby has helped them. Sub-fertility or difficulties getting pregnant make up a large proportion of the client's that I see. I have quite a special interest in this field, and have completed the Reproflexology course run by Barbara Scott of Seren Natural Fertility www.serennaturalfertility.co.uk, which is a very specific way of treating both men and women who feel that they need a bit of extra assistance. I like to ideally treat both partners if possible as it "takes two" as they say. However, if this is not something that appeals - one is better than none! There is an initial questionnaire to fill in, which asks for information from both partners, which I can send to you prior to the appointment. This detailed information helps ensure good baseline information. I combine the session with information about diet, lifestyle and use my training as an Australian Bush Flower Essence Practitioner to prescribe essences if I think that they are indicated. Maternity Reflexology Not all reflexologists are trained to treat pregnant women, but I have done specific training to ensure that I understand what I am doing. Maternity reflexology may help prepare and relax both the mother to be and the baby. You may have reflexology from the moment that you find out you are pregnant right up to during and after labour, I usually suggest that most women know when the time is right for them. It may help with digestion, (whether you are suffering with indigestion, constipation or nausea), and possibly sleep troubles. Many women complain that their back suffers whilst they are pregnant and a combination of maternity reflexology techniques and VRT may help. There is also a technique that many women have found beneficial when suffering with Symphysis Pubis Disorder (SPD) - painful, but for many very effective! It may also useful in helping to "prime" the body in readiness for labour. In fact I have quite a few women who have gone on to deliver safely not long after having had a treatment. If you are interested and want to know more, or are unsure whether this is suitable for you and your baby I am more than willing to discuss this with you. Baby Reflex - not only for big feet I run baby reflex workshops, or one on one mother and baby sessions, where you can learn the secrets of how to help both you and your baby with all manner of minor ailments - such as sleep, crying, colic, poor digestion, teething. A hands on practical and easy to follow technique.
The techniques were originally developed for bonding and over the years may have helped to ease, relieve and eliminate many baby discomforts. Baby Reflex offers parents and grandparents the opportunity to have a natural soothing therapy at their fingertips, anytime, anywhere; all you need are your 2 hands and your babies feet. Mums, Dads (Grandparents) or both are taught by in either 3 “hands on” group sessions (1 hour per week) – maximum 4 babies; or in a one to one session; how and when to do the technique on their own babies. The techniques are easy to learn and easy to apply and can be done anywhere at anytime. I'm still amazed at how effective they are! Recommended from 4 – 6 weeks of age onwards, till toddlerhood (getting them to keep still becomes tricky then!), most babies love it. How do we know? They either fall asleep or are completely chilled! At the end of each session, there's a handy reminder of the techniques, and at the end of the course, a colour set of Baby Reflex charts for use at home. Some mothers prefer a one to one session, where Mum also receives the benefits of reflexology and learns the most appropriate techniques for her baby.
